"UJ" & The Down Home Blues Band is a four piece acoustic roots and blues band. Bringing some fun and funk to vintage Chicago style blues, you'll love the remedy that this group stirs up at each and every live show.
Rooted in a fondness and deep-seated appreciation for the forefathers of American blues, The Down Home Blues Band pack traditional blues blended with a modern day roots revival into their lively performances. These native St. Louisans tell modern day stories of life and love in the River City.
UJ Miller's vocals swim against the current with soulful purpose. Scott Neale's blues harp adds the kind of grit you would find on a diesel locomotive. Kurt Jackson's walking bass lines thump on his homemade standup washtub bass while Rick Nenninger's drums and washboard keep a purposely simple but delightfully edgy beat. The Down Home Blues Band is a proud product of the City of Saint Louis and the life that goes along with it.
